Andy Murray began playing tennis at the age of three, when his mother Judy took him to the local courts. At five, he played in his first competitive tournament and at eight he was competing with adults in the Central District Tennis League.
Since then he has become the first British man to reach world No. 1 in the ATP rankings.
Andy is a three-time Grand Slam winner, two-time Olympic champion, Davis Cup champion, winner of the 2016 ATP World Tour Finals and three-time BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Andy was awarded an OBE in 2013 and was given a knighthood for his services to tennis and charity in the 2017 New Year’s Honours.
When travelling for tournaments, he says it’s important he “gets a good night’s sleep”. Andy is a fan of Gaston Acurio’s restaurant La Mar at Mandarin Oriental, Miami.
Andy’s charity of choice is WWF, for which he is an ambassador.
