From 9 - 19 January, Lucerne will transform into a radiant hub for the Lilu Light Festival. Artists from around the globe will showcase the captivating diversity of light art. Enjoy creative installations along an illuminated winter walk and a mesmerising light show. The city’s alleys, landmarks and squares will come alive with stunning displays.

Sound the Deep Waters

"Sound the deep waters”, by US artists Josh Miller and Angela Fraleigh, is an interactive dictionary of Victorian floral language that invites visitors to send secret messages by scanning a QR code on site, which are manifested as bold, brilliant, oversized flowers. Immerse yourself in the magic of the Lilu Light Festival captivating interactive installation, where technology and art come together to create a truly enchanting experience.

LILU Cocktail

Experience the magic of this year's LILU cocktail, inspired by the transformative beauty of the festival. This exquisite drink unfolds like a flower, with layers of vibrant flavours and a hint of sparkle. Allow this unique blend of dark rum, almond liqueur, cream, egg white, orange Angostura bitters, soda water and lime to captivate your senses and transport you to a world where art, light and flavour come together in perfect harmony.

Shows

Experience breathtaking light shows filled with colour and sound surprises. The Flow - Smetanas Moldau reimagined by Projektil – is a 30-minute immersive experience that reinterprets Bedřich Smetana’s music in a unique and innovative way. A diverse range of artists from various genres perform live, each offering their own interpretation of Flow. The show is available at multiple times each day. Walking Tour

Over 20 stunning light installations can be explored around the Lake Lucerne basin and in the charming old town, all free of charge. Artists from across the globe transform the streets, squares and façades of Lucerne into a mesmerizing display of light art. Immerse yourself in this captivating experience.

Guided Tour

Join us on a guided tour of the captivating light installations. Discover fascinating insights into the artistry behind some of the installations and the talented creators. The guided tour begins daily at 6:15pm, with an additional session at 7:15pm, conducted in German. The tour lasts 75 minutes and offers a selection of installations, though not all are included. Our concierges are happy to assist with booking the tour.
