Ephesus is an ancient city in Turkey’s Central Aegean region, near modern-day Selçuk. Its excavated remains reflect centuries of history, from classic Greece to the Roman Empire, whilst the site is considered to be one of the most spectacular open-air museums in Turkey and the world. During this privately guided tour, Ephesus city will come alive as you walk through 2,000-year-old marble streets, covering the Library of Celsius, Hadrian’s Temple, the Fountains of Trajan, Polio, The Temple of Domitian, Vedious and Scholastic Baths, Bouleuterion and the Great Theatre with a capacity of 24.000 spectators. You will also visit the Terrace Houses, known as “the houses of rich”, each designed for significantly important and wealthy people with beautiful frescoes and mosaics inside. After lunch, you will visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she is believed to have spent her last days.
